Let's Get Talking World!!

I'm really interested in the world pen pals from Epal, however, I think I would prefer to start off local, with a friend or someone I know.  I fear that having a stranger rely on me to reply would be a lot of pressure.  Also, I would feel more comfortable testing the water with someone I know.  I also think the video communication on Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration is cool, however, I would need  a lot more training on that.  I tried to set up a Skype but was unsuccessful.

I made my first flickr book

Let's Save the World, one blog at a time!

EcoKids Blog is an environmental blog for kids.  I enjoyed reading several of the posts, which seemed to be updated.  The posts are positive messages about taking care of the environment.  I actually learned something cool on a post called Can a bike powered concert make a city greener . There are a lot of things we can do to keep our Earth beautiful.  Younger students may have difficulty reading some of the post, however, older children may enjoy it.

Creative Teaching

Creative Teaching  has primary student activities.  The activity on the page is how to make a circle book.  The site offers ideas, and other tags.  Activities are organized, an example is Wishy Washy Play.  There are a lot of activities to explore.

Delicious Friend

Through one of my networks on my delicious account, I found a useful weather site called, Weather Wiz Kids.  There were internet games such as memory .I also found the Temperature Conversion Calculator useful. This is a kid friendly site that is easy to maneuver.

SMILEY BAGELS

I was very impressed with the display and range of 6th grade work on Huzzah I especially liked the recipe section.  I might want to try Smiley Face Bagels, minus the meat of course!

I’m hoping my students don’t see 8 Excuses for not doing their homework! I feel like I may have heard some of those excuses before though!
